"I Surrender My Life"
Dr. Gary Singleton
This week we turn our focus to a new sermon series about surrender. We’re calling this series “I Surrender All,” and this Sunday we will look at what it means to surrender your life to Jesus. How would you explain that to someone? What does it mean to surrender everything – possessions, dreams, thoughts, words – all to Jesus?
Some people would say that surrendering your life to Jesus simply means to trust and obey, and that’s certainly not a bad explanation. Some would say it means accepting Jesus as your Savior – and that’s also true. Believing the Bible, reading it, and trying to live by its teachings are also a big part of what it means to surrender your life to Jesus.
In Romans 12:1, Paul tells us exactly what it means to surrender your life to Jesus. I hope you will join me Sunday as we hear what Paul has to say. Paul tells us that an unsurrendered life is lived for yourself, but a surrendered life is lived for Jesus.

"Why Does God Allow So Much Suffering?"
Dr. Gary Singleton
The author & philosopher Sam Harris made this strong statement after the earthquake and subsequent Tsunami that rocked Japan in 2011. “Either God can do nothing to stop catastrophes like this, or he doesn't care to, or he doesn’t exist. God is either impotent, evil, or imaginary. Take your pick, and choose wisely.” Could he be right? Why would a loving God allow so much suffering?

"Should the Church Embrace Homosexuality?"
Bryan Jones
There is not a more divisive topic in the church today than homosexuality. Some would say that the church should stick to its historical stance against homosexuality. Others suggest that the church's historical viewpoint is antiquated and discriminatory. What would God say?

"What Is My Purpose?"
Bryan Jones
They are some of the most universal questions in all humanity. “Why am I here?” “What is my purpose?” We live in a world that presents a thousand answers to these questions, but what would God have to say?

"Is Drinking Alcohol Wrong?"
Dr. Gary Singleton
Churches have stood on all sides of this issue over the centuries. Some would promote complete prohibition, whiles others would say that all things are permissible. Where would God stand?

"Is God A Democrat or Republican?"
Bryan Jones
Samuel Adams, one of our founding fathers, once said "Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote…that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.” While many would say God has an opinion on politics, knowing what His opinion is can a be much more difficult thing determine.

"Do All Paths Lead to God?"
Dr. Gary Singleton
There are no shortage of opinions surrounding who God is, and how to get to Him. Some would say that there are many ways to earn God's favor, while Jesus made the claim that He is the only way. Could Jesus have been wrong? If He's not wrong, then what happens to those who follow different paths?

"Follow Jesus"
Matthew 4:18-20
Dr. Gary Singleton
If you asked several people, “Are you a Christian?” you would probably get a variety of answers. “Yes – but aren’t all religions basically the same?” “No! Christians are judgmental and anti-gay.” “Yes, I think so. I mean, I’m a pretty good person.”
The term “Christian” was first used in the first century to describe those who followed Christ, and it was not a complimentary term. In that day, most people thought followers of Jesus were just a little bit crazy. But it was not hard to figure out who the Christians were, because those who followed Jesus clearly lived differently than everyone else.
What was (and still should be) so unique about Christians? This Sunday we will take a look at what Matthew has to say about following Jesus. When Jesus called His first disciples, He called common, everyday fishermen – and He promised to make them “fishers of men.” (Matthew4:19)
I hope you will join me this Sunday as we see that following Jesus always leads to inviting others to follow Him. Matthew shows us that if you’re not fishing, you’re not following.
